How to use you Haron Tap Repair Kit:

To Re-Washer a Tap

Turn off the water supply to the taps. Remove any dress fittings and handles. Use the appropriate tap spanner to remove the spindle.

Tap Spanners fit most Caroma, Dorf, Fowler and other popular models; remove the old tap washer and inspect the seat of the tap for corrosion. Replace the washer and re-assemble.

To Re-seat Taps

The Haron Tap Re-seater is designed to re-seat both interior and exterior taps. For 1/2" (12.7mm) taps use the small cutting wheel, for the 3/4" (19mm) taps use the larger cutting wheel.

If the tap still drips after replacing the washer, the tap may require re-seating.

1 Repeat the procedure to remove the top from the body.

2 Select one of the two cutters 1/2" or 3/4"

3 Insert the cutter and bush into the tap body, screwing the bush home into the body thread.

4 Holding the bar at the top of the tool and with light downward pressure, turn the bar clockwise so that the utter removes a small amount of the seat. Be sure the cutter does this without chatter. Five to six turns is normally adequate.

5 Examine the seat to make sure that it is re-cut smoothly. A torch may be useful to examine the seat.

6 Replace the tap assembly after fitting the new washer.
